LIBRARIAN UPDATE

As of March 24th, Roberta Tracy resigned from the Ainsworth Public Library due to medical reasons. We would like to acknowledge and thank Roberta for all of her hard work and dedication over the past few months and wish her well in the future.

The Board of Trustees has appointed Sarah Snow to be the new Librarian. Sarah has been a Librarian in Vermont for over 10 years. Her background is primarily in youth services, but she enjoys reading adult non-fiction books and organizing adult programming. She enjoys creating multi-generational programming and interacting with members of the community to talk about book suggestions and ideas for programs. Be sure to stop in and say hello, if you haven’t met her yet.

The Library is currently accepting applications for two Library Clerk positions, each at six hours a week. Duties would include working at the circulation desk, shelving books, and helping with programming. High School diploma, excellent customer service and flexibility required. If you are interested or know of someone who is, please email Sarah or call her at the library.

STORY TIME

Story time has returned to the library! Our new Librarian, Sarah Snow, will lead us as we sing songs, read stories and do a craft. Geared for children birth to 6 years old, this weekly program will begin on April 6th and run every Wednesday from 10-11am. No registration is necessary and everything we do is free! You do not need to be a Williamstown resident to participate.

WILLIAMSTOWN READERS GROUP

The Williamstown Readers are an active group of local readers who meet monthly to discuss new books. They are always open to new members and you do not need to be a resident of Williamstown to join them. Each month, the group chooses a book to read and the library orders the books for the group. The library can also order Large Print and audio versions when needed. This month, they will be discussing the book Peace Like A River by Leif Engerwill. There is no need to read the whole book in order to participate in their discussions. They meet Wednesday, April 13th from 7-8pm at The Gardens. The group is lead by local resident, John Taylor. No registration is necessary, just show up at The Gardens, on the night of the discussion. 2844 Vermont 14, Williamstown, VT, 05679.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

The Friends of the Library is a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the library.  They organize several fundraisers throughout the year, with profits and activities that support the Library. The Friends meet on the second Monday of each month at 6pm at the Library.  They are always looking for new members with fresh ideas and enthusiasm! Come help put great ideas into action! Meetings are open to the public and you are welcome to sit in on a meeting without making a commitment. The April meeting will be on Monday, April 11th from 6-7pm.

BETH WARRELL MEMORIAL FUND

The Board of Trustees would like to thank everyone who donated to the Beth Warrell Memorial Fund. We plan to have new bulletin boards and promotional material racks custom built in the vestibule of the Library with a plaque to remember Beth for all of her hard work, time and dedication to the Ainsworth Public Library.

NORWICH AND WILLIAMSTOWN 200 YEARS OF HISTORY

In collaboration with the Williamston Historical Society, please join us at The Gardens for a presentation by Jacque Day that explains Williamstown’s connection to Norwich.  Snacks will be provided. No need to register.  Wednesday, April 27 6:30-7 pm.

TRUSTEE MEETING

Ainsworth Public Library Board of Trustees usually meet at the Library on the second Thursday of each month at 6pm. These meetings determine decisions that impact the Library and are open to the public, should you have any ideas to bring forward. The next Board of Trustees meeting will be held on April 14th from 6-7pm.

PLEASE PROVIDE FEEDBACK

The Library is seeking feedback on what patrons would like to see more of at the Library. Are there certain books that you are interested in seeing? Programming that would interest you? Ideas for using the space differently? Please call or email us with your ideas.
