storytimeStorytime is becoming popular at the library. We will continue to offer Storytime weekly on Wednesdays from 10am – 11am, where we sing songs, read stories and do a craft. No registration is necessary. Storytime will also be offered on Saturday, July 9th from 10am – 11am. This Storytime is geared for all ages. Can’t make it? You can also find us at the Williamstown Farmer’s Market the last Friday of the month at 5pm.


Technology help desk

Technology Program July 16thBring your device and learn how to use it! Could you use a little extra help navigating websites, filling out online forms, or using your own device to borrow and read eBooks? Bring in your personal laptop or device and our very own Tim Betts can help get you started. This is an open time to drop in and get the help you need. No registration necessary. No cost to attend. Saturday, June 18th from 10:30am – 12pm.




APL Senior Book GroupWe are starting a senior book group monthly at the Gardens. Join us for an informational meeting on Thursday, July 14th 4pm at The Gardens. We will get to know one another, choose books to read, and discuss how the group will function monthly. Open to all seniors.




The Williamstown Readers will be discussing the book The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery. There is no need to read the whole book in order to participate in discussions. They meet Wednesday, July 13th from 7-8 pm at The Gardens. The group is led by local resident, John Taylor. No registration is necessary; just show up join the conversation.



dickey_DrysdaleOn June 24th, author Dickey Drysdale joined us for an evening of storytelling based on his new book Vermont Moments. The audience enjoyed his lively stories and descriptions of growing up in Vermont. We have a donated copy of his book to check out at the library if you missed the presentation.


Social HourAre you a Williamstown senior resident that likes to read? Would you like to meet others with a similar interest? Join us the second Wednesday of every month from 9-10 am. We will have tea, light refreshments and lively conversations. Our first one will begin Wednesday, July 13th at 9am.



Listen Up Vermont Drop InEvery Wednesday from 1:30-5:30pm our library clerk, Monique Hayden will offer assistance to anyone who needs help with his or her account. Monique can help you get started if you don’t have an established account or help troubleshoot any problems. This is an open time, so drop in and out as you please, no need to call ahead. You can also call the library and Monique can help you over the phone.


quiltThe Friends of the Library are holding a raffle for a wonderful quilt, donated by volunteer Helen Johnson. Raffle tickets are $1 each or $5 for 6 tickets.  All proceeds go towards the library.


Our Library is cooler than ever! Thanks to the Friends of the Ainsworth Public Library, we now offer air conditioning. Come in and cool off, enjoy reading upstairs in a cozy nook, use our computers, or play with our toys.



summer_readingWe are very happy to announce that we have 19 youth signed up for summer reading. Children 4-6 can win a new scooter, Youth 7-12 can win a new tent (pictured) and Teens 13-18 can win a new hammock. You can come and see the hammock and scooter on display at the library. For every fifteen minutes of reading, youth will get a raffle ticket towards one of our prizes. Volunteers pictured above: Alexus Isham and Rachel Rose.



The Library is always in need of a few items. If you have any of the following items and would like to donate them, please call or email Sarah Snow.

  • New or gently used changing table to fit in our bathroom
  • Floor lamp for upstairs
  • Screen door for the front entrance – Actual door size is 78” tall by 37 5/8” wide
  • Britta water pitcher
  • New carpet sweeper
  • New phone
